Art & Design in Photoshop CS4
Mondays, 10am-1pm, April 26, May 3, 10
Fridays, 10am - 1pm, June 4, 11, 18
Tuition: $135 - (3) three hour sessions
Whether you are creating images for the web, for print
or for your own personal use, this class will teach
you some basic principles of design and how to incorporate
these into your own Photoshop documents. We will
simplify effects, filters, adjustments and layers so
you can master various type effects, replicate famous
artist styles or design your own poster or sign.
And this is just the beginning. Cost of class
includes book. Computers are provided for use
in class (limited laptops available) or bring your own
laptop. Need basic working knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
Photo Manipulation in Photoshop CS4

Wednesdays, 10am-1pm, May 5, 12
Wednesdays, 10am-1pm, June 9, 16
Tuition: $95 (6 hour classes/(2) 3 hour sessions)
Learn to alter photographs in multiple ways. Get
rid of red eye, fix color contrast, work with levels
and histograms, use the healing brush, clone tool, adjustment
layers and filters. Learn to bring out the best in your
photographs using Photoshop. Computers are provided
for use in class (limited laptops available) or bring
your own laptop. Need basic working knowledge of Microsoft
Windows. Basic knowledge of Photoshop is helpful.
The
Joy Foundation
Through the arts, the primary goal of The Joy Foundation
is to build self-worth and confidence in the hearts
of the youth. Currently, The Joy Foundation holds
a yearly Chalk Art Festival on Bountiful’s Historic
Main Street called ‘Magic on the Sidewalk’,
Open Mic Night every Saturday evening, plus numerous
film, music and computer art programs for the youth.

Shey Rauch is a hands-on instructor
with more than 20 years of design/art combined with
12 years of computer instruction experience. With
a BA degree from Iowa State University in graphic design,
Shey is currently conducting workshops at SLCC and The
Joy Foundation in conjunction with BDAC. She has worked
with numerous corporations as art director or designer
including: BMC Software, Elite Agency, and Dunn and
Bradstreet.
*Minimum of 4 registered students needed for
classes to run.
