This class is also great for high school students who are getting ready to submit portfolios. Topics covered in this course include the importance of design, principles of linear perspective, the expressive power of line and shading. Most work in this class is based on observation from life and will culminate in drawing a portrait from life.
For more advanced students who have either already taken my foundation drawing course or have been approved by the instructor based on a portfolio review, this class provides the opportunity for you to continue to develop your skills, and associate with, and get feedback from other artists who share your passion. Projects in this class build on the skills and principles taught in the foundation course. New mediums and techniques are introduced. More emphasis is placed on design and we look further into understanding light and shadow. This class also focuses on drawing from life.
