Education Programs
BDAC is committed to engaging the community through
quality artistic programs which stimulate appreciation
and support of the arts and providing educational experiences
that develop and enhance artistic processes. As such,
BDAC provides educational experiences and services to
school groups. The Davis County Traveling Exhibition
and BDAC Field Trip programs are designed to facilitate
art education in this area.

Exhibition to the Schools
In cooperation with the Davis School District, BDAC

BDAC Field Trips
BDAC encourages visits to the Art Center by school
classes. BDAC staff is available to conduct exhibit
tours, gallery etiquette discussions, and art activities.
If you prefer, you may design and implement your own
gallery experience for your students with support from
BDAC staff. Our classrooms can accomodate 35 students
at a time.
Art Education Initiatives
In addition to the above mentioned programs, BDAC is
in the process of expanding our educational offerings
in an attempt to bridge the gap between public school
funding of arts programs and the need for art education
in the schools. These initiatives include Staff Development
classes, offered for recertification credit in conjunction
with the Davis School District, and customized programs
designed to meet the needs of individual schools or
groups of teachers. These programs are designed by request
based on the needs of specific teachers, PTA's, or schools.
They have included in-school art inservice classes for
age-level groups of teachers, evaluation of art supplies/processes
in order to make the best art supply purchases with
available money, and artist demonstrations in schools.
If you have an art need and would like to explore the
possibility of working with BDAC on accomplishing these
objectives, please contact Trixee
Buckingham at BDAC. For more information/enrollment
on the Staff Development classes, please see the DSD
website.
