THE WINNERS OF THE 2008 DAVIS SCHOOL DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL
STUDENT EXHIBITION
The Bountiful/Davis Art Center is pleased to announce the winners of the Davis County High School Student and Art Educators Exhibit. Winners were recognized during a reception at the Bountiful/Davis Art Center on April 4, 2008. The judge for the student’s portion of the exhibit was Utah artist Penny Bohn.
“When I first view a piece, I take notice of how the image peaks my emotions,” said Ms. Bohn. “Does it make me curious to look closer? Does it pull a heart string? Do the colors or composition make it so that I can’t turn away? These are the ones that I spend more time with, examine closer, and pay attention to the execution of the medium. So many of these entries inspired me to take a closer look, and challenged me to figure out, ‘Who did the best work?”
The 2008 exhibit was organized by Davis County School District teachers, Melanie Swann and Lester B. Lee. The Bountiful/Davis Art Center is honored to have the opportunity to work with these dedicated educators and provide a forum for the public to see the work of these aspiring young artists and their teachers.
