Portfolio Review Process
Applications and portfolios are reviewed through a jury
process conducted by the Programs Committee, comprised
of artists and arts professionals. The identities of
the applicants are not disclosed while the slides are
being viewed and scored. Similarly, artists’ statements
and resumes presented for review are done in a blind
process. The committee will select individual artists
and/or artist organizations, based on an established
scoring procedure. The selected artists are then placed
into groups of three to six per exhibit. Alternate artists
will be designated and notified.
Artistic quality of the work, evidence of ability
to produce the proposed exhibit, balance of mediums
presented during the season and completeness and clarity
of the entry are among the selection criteria.
BDAC provides all persons with equal access to programs
without regard to race, religion, sex, national origin,
disability, age, or sexual orientation.
