AMY FAIRCHILD: COLOR MY WORLD
UNDERGROUND GALLERY MAY 18 - JUNE 22
RECEPTION MAY 18 6 - 8 PM
"Striving to remove the complications of daily life into a morphing form of pure color is what I pursue. I am an abstract photographer with an eye for color and a feel for mood. Minimalism of the environment is my goal. Our unconscious thought of light, abstract and color create peacefulness within each of us and photography can be a way to capture and preserve that. My growing body of work continues to morph into an ever larger display of what nature provides. My work blends the feel of both photography and painting in a way that is very simplistic and yet quite intricate. Color induces a wide range of emotion depending upon the hue of the photograph. From soothing to chaotic, color makes us feel, makes us alive. Dive into my photographs, become a part of them, experience them. My goal is for you to find your own peace. I have."
BIO
"I grew up in the US but spent many of my adult years in Germany (17.) I graduated with a BFA in photography from Westminster College in SLC. I've always had a passion for art, but didn't always listen to my heart about it. When I was finally able indulge (or take a chance), a whole new side of what I wanted to do was born in my photography. I continue to travel and photograph my world of color as I see it. I'm a Canon woman and will never switch! I also have 4 children that were all born in Germany ranging from 19-29. One of my daughters shares my passion for art. My husband and I are celebrating 29 years this year. I love camping, fishing, sailing, gardening, my 2 dogs and 2 cats." - Amy Fairchild
