TAKING PRECAUTIONS TO KEEP YOU HEALTHY updated 6/4

BDAC & COVID-19:

BDAC is monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely

We are following reliable sources like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Utah's COVID-19 Community Task Force for information. We are also in dialogue with our arts and culture colleagues around the state and nation regarding the best preventative measures we can take to protect our arts patrons.

BDAC is re-opening in limited capacity on June 5th, 2020

As we prepare to reopen to the public on June 5th, Bountiful Davis Art Center reiterates its commitment to the health and safety of our visitors, artists, and staff. In order to help protect the community and prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are implementing a number of new safety procedures for the art center. These include:

  • Numbers of visitors admitted during the event will be limited to about 50 at one time. Be aware that you may need to wait in a line to get in.

  • Masks must be worn by everyone throughout the building and may be purchased at the door for a small fee. If you are unable to wear a mask, please do not risk going out in public. Instead, stay safe at home and enjoy the streaming video of the event available on our website.

  • The Plein Air awards ceremony will be livestreamed at about 7:00pm. Winners do not need to be present - we will mail the certificates and award checks.

  • Hand sanitizer will be available at both the front and back doors. Visitors should be able to navigate the entire event without touching anything.

  • Social distancing from other visitors will be expected.

  • We will not be serving food. Bottled water will be available at the front desk.

  • Please do not bring children under the age of 10 just for this one night, to keep total crowd numbers down. Children will be welcomed back after the event during our regular gallery hours, Tu-F 10-6 and Sat 12-5.

These extra precautions are based on recommendations by the CDC, the Davis County Health Department, and Bountiful Davis Art Center’s commitment to social responsibility.

Community safety is important to all of us.

Whether at home or in public, there are general safety recommendations we should all follow. (Wash your hands and don't touch your face!) Most importantly, if you are not feeling well, stay home. This is what we're telling our staff and volunteers, and this is what we suggest to our visitors and community.

Here are some specific things we are doing at the art center:

  •  We've reviewed hand washing and social distancing practices with our staff and volunteers and posted reminders for everyone throughout the art center.

  •  We have hand sanitizer at the front desk and full soap dispensers in all restrooms.

  • We've increased the frequency and tracking of our disinfecting efforts in highly-trafficked areas and commonly touched places like door handles and faucets.

  • Classes and events scheduled for the next several weeks are small enough to allow for safe social distancing. We have nothing scheduled for more than 50 people in attendance until mid-April with the opening of new exhibitions. That opening reception may be postponed or cancelled if CDC or State recommendations change.

  • Only one staff member will be at BDAC when we open for limited hours.

Going forward, we will continue to review and revise our strategy in accordance with the most up-to-date information and recommendations.

PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES, AND LET'S TAKE CARE OF ONE ANOTHER!
