Megan Simper (musician)

Megan Simper is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Logan, Utah. She earned her Bachelor of Music Degree in Guitar Performance from Utah State University, studying under Mike Christiansen. A recipient of the Utah Artist Fellowship from the Utah Department of Arts and Museums in 2023, Megan has performed at TEDxUSU, and at various festivals and venues across the state. Her solo album, “Woven In” (2019) and band Mama LongLegs’ album, “Time to Let You Go” (2020), feature Megan as a writer, performer, and co-producer. Megan has composed music for film, radio, and art installations/exhibits.  This is her second collaboration with Antra.

Megan’s unique musical style is complex and lyrical, seamlessly blending classical, folk, bluegrass, and blues while integrating fingerstyle guitar, mandolin, piano, and more. Weaving intricate instrumental textures with vocals that are both pure and powerful, Megan believes that the arts help us to co-create ourselves and strives to integrate her contemplative practice into her work. She surrounds her listeners in a rich sonic landscape evocative of her native Utah landscape to draw them in and lead them back to themselves and into radical presence.

Megan spends her time teaching private guitar, songwriting, and production lessons, creating music and art, and enjoying the beautiful Bear River Mountains.
