Erik Brown

Erik got his start in ceramics almost by accident by taking a pottery class at the University of Utah's Bountiful Extension to fulfill an art credit. After repeating several classes just for fun, he was invited to help out as a teaching assistant in the wheel-thrown and handbuilt classes for non-art majors, an activity he enjoyed for over twenty years. Erik's love for the natural world, especially the oceans, is reflected in the forms and glazes of his work, and he's been fortunate enough to have been shown in several galleries and shows over the last 25 years. A committed introvert and technology nerd, Erik is living proof that you don't have to be born with innate artistic talent to be able to enjoy creating art.
