January 8th - February 12th (2-week extension ends on February 26th)

The first two weeks students will learn about color mixing, color theory, and what makes a good composition as well as spending time beginning a painting. The rest of the classes will be spent painting and receiving one-on-one and group instruction. Due to student request we have opened up a two week extenstion for the course.

Beginning to Intermediate Oil Painting with Theresa Otteson- Ages 14+
These supplies are not set in stone. If you have supplies already, bring what you have.
Cadmium Yellow Light
You can add more brushes as you see fit
Odorless turpentine or mineral spirits
Painting medium such as Liquin
Container with a lid to hold turpentine and in to clean brushes
Paper towel or rags
A couple of canvas or canvas boards no larger than 11” x 14”
Please bring 3-4 pictures of simple subjects that you are interested in painting.
Supplies can be purchased at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Peterson Art Center (employees are good here at helping to find good student grade supplies that cost less), and online at Dick Blick and Cheap Joes.
