An artist’s job, like that of a scientist is to devote their life to understanding things from atypical or extraordinary points of view and then to offer the resulting knowledge to their community. In turn they each transmit their findings through journals or exhibitions to share their experiences with the world.
In recent decades art has developed a sapiophilic attraction to science, not to mention a tool envy, and has leaned in further than the customary illustrations in its flirtations, to appropriate the laboratory itself. By sharing their rituals and tools an intimate relationship between art and science develops.
