Youth Wheel Throwing w/ Bronson

Class Description

Complete newbies and intermediate students welcome! In class one we’ll learn the basics of throwing on the wheel. In class two we will learn about trimming the pieces we threw the previous week. In class three we will go back to the wheel and throw again. Class four we will trim again. Classes one through four will focus on wheel throwing and we’ll primarily learn about making bowls, cups, and vases. In class five we will pivot and focus on hand-building pottery without the wheel, making things like pinch pots or coil pots, and in class six we will glaze our creations we’ve made throughout the session. These are only guidelines and if we need to tweak and adjust these as we progress, we will do so as needed. I am excited to meet you all and get our hands on some clay. :) About the Instructor: Bronson is very passionate about pottery. He recognizes the importance of patience and encouragement when it comes to guiding young minds towards finding their own creative expression and artistic voices. He also feels that everyone’s minds are uniquely different and believes compassion and empathy are important tools when it comes to teaching art. Bronson enjoys many other forms of artistic expression including watercolor, crochet, acrylic paint, doodling, and more. He is excited to share his passion for pottery and help students discover their own styles through working with clay.
