Summer Space Camp with Nancy Olson

This 4-day summer camp will give students the opportunity to experiement with lots of different art materials and techniques!

June 3-Retro Rockets Painting-

Not only is this lesson a “blast” for kids to make, but it also emphasizes color, value, texture, drawing and mixed-media. The children begin by creating a splatter painted background for their rocket.Then students will draw a retro rocket of their choice on another paper and collage it onto the splatter background and add tissue paper flames for Blast off.

June 4-Mixed Media Self portrait in Space

This project is a wonderful opportunity to review the scientific accomplishments of space travel with a fun and engaging art activity. Children explore space in the scientific sense along with space as an element of art.
