The Bountiful Davis Art Center's Summerfest is an annual cultural arts festival that brings together artisans, performers, and audiences in a vibrant celebration of global traditions. This year, as part of the nationwide America 250 commemoration, Summerfest embraces the theme E Pluribus Unum—"Out of Many, One," celebrating the many cultures, stories, and artistic traditions that strengthen our communities. Summerfest highlights the universal language of art and its ability to connect people across cultures.

Collaborative Paper Mâché Sculpture Painting: Axolote
Friday & Saturday
Help bring a giant paper mâché Axolote (Axolotl) sculpture to life through a collaborative acrylic painting activity!
Created by artist Clara Amezcua, this project celebrates traditional sculptural techniques and the rich cultural heritage of Mexican papier-mâché and piñata-making.
Linocut Printmaking Workshop
Friday, August 7 all day
Led by volunteers and photographer, educator, and interdisciplinary artist Sara Serratos, this hands-on workshop introduces participants to the art of linocut printmaking.
The workshop offers two experiences:

Youth and adults will carve a simple linoleum block using traditional printmaking tools and create their own hand-printed designs.

Children and seniors will explore printmaking with pre-carved linocut stamps, experimenting with color, texture, and pattern to create layered prints.
Participants will discover the joy of transforming a single carved design into multiple original prints while learning the fundamentals of relief printmaking in a fun, welcoming environment.
Cyanotype Workshop
Saturday, August 8 all day
Led by volunteers and photographer, educator, and interdisciplinary artist Sara Serratos, this hands-on linocut printmaking workshop invites participants of all ages to explore the art of relief printing. Youth and adults will carve and print their own linoleum blocks, while children and seniors will experiment with pre-carved stamps to create colorful layered prints. Discover the satisfaction of transforming a simple design into multiple original works in a fun, creative, and welcoming environment.
Heritage Arts Workshops
Experience culture through making. Led by master artists and cultural practitioners, these hands-on workshops explore the stories, techniques, and traditions behind heritage art forms from around the world. Whether you're discovering a new skill or deepening an existing one, you'll leave with a handmade creation and a greater appreciation for the cultures that inspire it. Space is limited, and all skill levels are welcome.

Art Yard at Summerfest
The Art Yard is a welcoming, hands-on creative area where children, teens, and families can participate in fun, interactive art activities during Summerfest. With adult supervision, participants are invited to explore different artistic techniques and express themselves freely through a variety of workshops, stations, and collaborative projects.
