Lenora Ford Brown Recital Stage
The Lenora Ford Brown Recital Stage at BDAC is a professional, intimate performance space created to support teachers, students, and emerging artists. Here, local musicians can rehearse, record, or present recitals in an inspiring, acoustically tuned environment — at accessible rates and in a setting that honors the value of creative learning.
History & Namesake
The recital stage was named in honor of Lenora Ford Brown, a distinguished pianist, educator, and advocate for the arts. In 2015, BDAC formally dedicated the stage to her legacy, recognizing her lifelong commitment to mentoring students and elevating musical standards in Utah.
Professor Brown’s career spans decades of performance, pedagogy, and community engagement: she has performed with major ensembles, taught at the University of Utah, and earned recognition as a Steinway Artist. Her dedication to nurturing talent makes her a fitting namesake for a space devoted to creative cultivation.
The idea for a recital stage grew from BDAC’s vision of expanding arts infrastructure in Davis County. By integrating a performance venue into BDAC’s building, we sought to provide a resource that bridges education and professional practice — helping local teachers and students access a quality space without prohibitive cost.

Mission & Impact
The Lenora Ford Brown Stage reflects BDAC’s commitment to generational access and emerging artist support. In honor of Lenora Ford Brown’s legacy as an educator and mentor, recital pricing is offered at a discounted rate for individual and independent teachers. This reduced fee helps remove financial barriers, allowing more students to gain confidence and real-world performance experience in a professional venue, while strengthening our community and honoring the lasting impact of teacher-mentors.
