Serve on BDAC’s Board

An invitation from our executive director

At BDAC, we see what happens when people have opportunities to encounter art, explore ideas, and create together. Artists find recognition and connection. Students see their work in a gallery. Families discover that an exhibition can be the beginning of their own creative exploration.

We are building on that work with a clear sense of purpose: strengthening opportunities for artists, deepening the connection between exhibitions and education, and developing the relationships and resources that sustain a regional arts institution. Our 2025–2028 Strategic Plan guides this growth, including our progress toward museum accreditation.

As we look ahead, we welcome people who want to help guide that future. Your experience, community relationships, and perspective could make a meaningful contribution to BDAC and the people we serve. I invite you to learn more about board service and start a conversation with us.

— Sarina Villareal Ehrgott, Executive Director

Help Guide a Growing Arts Institution

BDAC connects artists and communities through professionally curated exhibitions, artist development, and accessible education. Board members help sustain this work and guide our next stage of growth.

What board members do

The board guides strategy, approves budgets and policies, oversees financial health, and supports and evaluates the executive director. Members also build community relationships, participate in fundraising, and advocate for BDAC. The executive director and staff manage daily operations and programs.

Who we’re looking for

We welcome varied backgrounds and community connections, particularly experience in arts and museums, philanthropy, education, civic leadership, and communications. Business, finance, legal, and governance expertise also strengthen our board. Previous board service is not required.

Start a conversation

Tell us about your interests, experience, and what you could bring to BDAC’s future. Our short interest form begins a conversation about mutual fit; it does not guarantee an appointment.
