March 3-Berth Morisot Floral Still Life

Learn about the French Impressionist Berthe Morisot and her love of painting everyday objects. Paint a floral still life using her style as an inspiration.

March 10-Renoir Watering Can

In this lesson, students will learn about one of the most famous pieces by the Impressionist artist, Renoir. In A Girl with a Watering Can, he depicts a charming young girl in a lush garden who is ready to water some flowers with her watering can. The watering can becomes the focal point of this lesson based on drawing an object with form and adding value to make the watering can look 3D. The use of rubber cement as a masking fluid will keep the highlighted area of the watering can bright and white.

March 24-Cezanne Bowl of Apples Collage

Inspired by Cézanne’s still life arrangements, children learn how to assemble a collection of paper fruit pieces to make their own still life arrangement.

March 31-Roy Lichtenstein Pop Art Still Life

Learn about the POP art movement with this mixed media lesson that incorporates abstraction of everyday objects using the Ben Day Dot system.

All materials are provided. Masks are also required.
