Traditional Art with Nancy Andruk Olson--CANCELED

In this class each month we will focus on a different aspect of traditional art. Emphasis will be placed on the elements and principles of design and students will learn techniques that will help develop their artistic skills.

Portraits

Students will have the opportunity to complete 2 projects. Both will focus on using proportion and form to accurately draw a face.  Referencing the work of Cezanne students will create a tonal portrait using only three colors to work on creating structure to the face.  Then students will create a self-portrait referencing the work of contemporary portrait artist Bisa Butler.  This part will help students understand proportion and will give them the opportunity for self-expression. Please bring a black and white photocopy of just your student's face.

No experience is necessary, and all supplies are provided.
