As an artist, I find beauty in just about everything around me. Lately, I’ve been really interested in using animals to express human emotions.
My creative process is all about exploring and experimenting with different mediums—there’s so much freedom in that. For this show, I’ve mainly worked with acrylics and pens to bring my ideas to life. My sketchbooks are where I can get messy, have fun, and play around as I plan out bigger pieces. Emotions are complicated, and I try to capture that by combining different feelings in each piece. I mix things like abstraction, realism, bold colors, and intentional composition to create work that reflects the depth of the emotions I want to express. A lot of the pieces in this exhibit are tied to my personal experience with grief. Knowing that I’ll eventually lose my mother to cancer has brought up a lot of pain, anxiety, and sadness. But it’s also taught me to appreciate life more as it is right now. Realizing that nothing lasts forever has helped me find more beauty in the present moment. These days, I feel really grateful for so many things in life, and making art is definitely at the top of that list. Whether it's small doodles in my sketchbook or big canvas paintings, I feel a deep passion for everything I create. From the first idea to the actual creation and sharing it with others, every step of the process brings me joy. I really hope you can enjoy and connect with the art I’m putting out there.
