Art After School: Lizards Dinos Dragons

Class Description

November 6th- Colorful Lizard From desert-dwelling dragons to interesting iguanas, lizards are some of the most common reptile pets. With this colorful lesson, you’ll have a rainbow of lizards ready to line your bulletin board or hallway. Students get started with a simple observational drawing of one of the included source images or their own before adding color with brushstrokes of liquid tempera paint in their own chosen color scheme. November 13th - Dino Egg This lesson packs a lot of excitement into one little egg! Students will explore line and two different watercolor techniques that are like magic for younger students: watercolor resist and adding texture with salt. Expect to hear squeals of delight when your students crack their egg open for the first time and this adorable little dino appears! November 20th - Komodo Dragon An art project about a lizard that is the size of a person is sure to get your students’ attention! This Komodo dragon, created with a warm color scheme set against a cool colored Indonesian background, really pops off the page. Students will use crayons to add lots of interesting texture to each element in their artwork before painting everything with watercolor. These giant lizards are definitely unique, and this artwork that features them will be an excellent addition to students' art portfolio.
