Class Description
You will learn how to create functional pieces such as mugs and jars on a potter's wheel. You will learn every step of the process and the techniques and skills that will help make this expressive art form a lifelong hobby. When the class concludes students can pick up their work three weeks later. This gives the studio enough time to fire the work in the kiln a final time. Class cost includes materials Week by week breakdown: Week 1: Intro to the wheel, wedging and centering Week 2: Wedging and centering continued Week 3: Mugs and handels Week 4: Basics of glazing Week 5: Jars and lids Week 6: Final touches and glaze day About the Instructor: I believe that everyone needs some form of artistic outlet. I started pottery when I was in high school and have taken several advanced classes! I throw whenever I can because I love it! Cancellation Policy
Registration fees are to be paid before the beginning of each class. A spot in a class is not guaranteed until full tuition and fees are paid. All classes have a minimum and maximum enrollment and Bountiful Davis Art Center reserves the right to cancel classes that do not meet the minimum number of students required. Every effort is made to notify those registered of cancellations. Fees for classes canceled by the Art Center will be fully refunded. Cancellation/Refund Terms for classes: Classes cancelled by the art center: 100% refund Student cancels before first class: $10 fee (Please e-mail kaye@bdac.org for refund, less $10 fee) Student cancels after beginning of first class: No refund
