Class Description

This three-part class and guided workshop series introduces participants to the foundations and principles of holistic healing through art. The course supports the development of self-awareness, personal healing practices, and an understanding of how art functions as a spiritual and healing practice across cultures. Participants will explore both hands-on and non–hands-on healing modalities while integrating a mind–body–spirit approach to wellness. Participants will: Develop a foundational understanding of holistic healing principles. Cultivate self-awareness and personal healing practices. Recognize art as a tool for spiritual connection and healing across cultures. Explore basic hands-on and non–hands-on healing modalities. Integrate creative expression into a holistic wellness practice. Participants Will Experience: An appreciation of how art has been used across cultures for healing, reflection, and spiritual connection. Practical ways to use art for mindfulness, emotional awareness, and personal expression. The completion of three to four artworks and a deeper understanding of art as a healing practice. Workshop Structure: This class consists of three sessions, each incorporating guided workshops with reflective and creative components, including: Guided gallery tour with reflective writing and visual contemplation. Mandala creation as a meditative practice. Exploration of personal symbols versus cultural symbols. Spiritual art-making (e.g., prayer coasters or intention-based objects). Developing a personal wellness routine that integrates artistic expression. Teacher Bio: Deborah Brown known as (De’) is the owner and operator of PaRicDe Enterprise & Ministry, LLC. “Rebuilding the Temple” and “Living a Life that Matters” are two of her signature sayings that were birthed during a period of extreme illness and disease. During this period, De’ discovered and practiced many natural, spiritual, and holistic tools that brought her back from the brink of death. From this experience De’ transformed her life: mentally, spiritually, physically, and professionally. De’ has served many diverse communities through her Interfaith and Integrative Ministry, including CERT, Introduction to the Healing Arts, Be Well, and Health Freedom. Some of De's favorite hobbies are reading, traveling, collecting odd items, and cooking. De' has given her time and talents to many charitable causes and events. Mentoring women and children are her top priorities.

Cancellation Policy

Registration fees are to be paid before the beginning of each class. A spot in a class is not guaranteed until full tuition and fees are paid. All classes have a minimum and maximum enrollment and Bountiful Davis Art Center reserves the right to cancel classes that do not meet the minimum number of students required. Every effort is made to notify those registered of cancellations. Fees for classes canceled by the Art Center will be fully refunded. Cancellation/Refund Terms for classes: Classes cancelled by the art center: 100% refund Student cancels before first class: $10 fee (Please e-mail kaye@bdac.org for refund, less $10 fee) Student cancels after beginning of first class: No refund
