DIRECTION OF THOUGHT: PATRICK DURKA
OPENING RECEPTION : SEPTEMBER 22, 6-8 PM | ON VIEW : SEPTEMBER 22 - NOVEMBER 4
Artist Statement:
Setting:
“ The landscape (history) pushes a sort of romance. Either in a Robinson Crusoe manner or as the picture tells
us - the feel of a box. Perception of this is like ice skating on a frozen mirage lake."
Inner monologue:
“I find myself thinking about this show, not just this show, but all things that constitute making art through the lens of politics. More so what I think the capital P in politics is. This doesn't take ground here in what you are seeing. No! This is an adventure, an adventure of thought. A thought that only has a direction. A direction that lasts only until this show is over. Or lasts until I forget or others kick the bucket. Direction of thought is the title.”
Sum:
A map of lines and gaps. Fill in what you may............
