Sept 2nd: Helen Frankenthaler Oversized paintings
After watching a video of Helen Frakelthaler using her color field techniques, students will then make an oversized painting using sponges large brushes, and other nontraditional painting techniques.
September 9th: Kandinsky dyed circles
Learn about Kandinsky and his abstract painting techniques and then make a series of dyed circles using various aqueous media including ink, watercolor, and dye
September 16: Monet Resist water lilies
Read about Claude Monet's fabulous garden and then make a watercolor painting of his famous pond using the wax resist technique.
September 23: Japanese Carp Streamers
Make a beautiful fish streamer after the Japanese traditions. Each student will construct a fish that can be flown in the air!
All materials are provided. Masks are also required.
