April14 -Matisse Stained Glass Collage Portait

In this project, students will layer materials to create a striking background for this portrait that looks like stained glass. Students will learn about the artist Matisse and learn to cut his iconic shapes and incorporate them into a portrait.

April 21 -Picasso Cubist Faces

Picasso ignored the rules of perspective and invented the cubist movement that painted objects from many angles. Students will draw inspiration from this technique by creating a fun face with  a line drawing and then filling it in with paint

April 28th -Marisol Escobar cube portraits

Create four portraits in one with this unique take on the boxy sculpture of French artist MARISOL ESCOBAR. In this lesson, students will create a variety of portraits that can be mixed and matched as the cubes of their sculptures are turned.

All materials are provided. Masks are also required.
