Universe Chalk Pastel Drawings-

This lesson is quite expressive and allows for multiple techniques to be used: splatter painting, shading, stenciling and composition. Students will create their own universe using these techniques and chalk pastel on a black paper.

Glow in the Dark Flowers-

Make some flowers for your mom that are out of this world! Students will focus on pattern and repetition as they print their flowers with neon liquid tempera paint, cut toilet paper tube flowers and bottle caps. An alternate version has them using the toilet paper tube flowers as stencils. As their patterned paper dries, they’ll even have the option to paint the toilet paper tubes and include those in the final piece of artwork.

Droid Foam Shapes Collage-

Using a well loved template for a droid student can create their own droid by collaging foam pieces onto the droid. They will be free to explore their own ideas about a droid and use their imagination to create a droid that they would want to be their companion.

Galactic General Self Portraits-

Kids can imagine themselves as their favorite general and choose from variety of templates that they can embellish and collage on to an outer space background that they draw themselves with oil pastel.

No experience is necessary, and all supplies are provided.
