Kristi considers photography a way of life. She loves how it helps her to slow down and pay attention to the world around her. When she’s not making images with her cameras, she makes them with her eyes, constantly on the lookout for light, color, and interesting compositions. With her degree in Sociology from Brigham Young University and having lived in three different countries in Europe, Kristi is passionate about photo-documenting people and places. She loves doing personal projects to push creativity. Her work is featured and published in a variety of online and print publications including the book, Let Me Tell You My Story: Refugee stories of Hope, Courage and Humanity. Kristi enjoyed working on a number of projects for the nonprofit organization, TSOS Refugees, in Europe and the U.S. where she helped photograph refugee stories.

Kristi received mentoring from Justin Hackworth and is a member of the photography group, Salt Lake Seven, under the direction of Kent Miles. She appreciates how both mentors generously share their photography knowledge and has felt inspired to do so too. Having taught children and youth in multiple Utah schools and settings, Kristi is excited to merge that teaching background with her photography experience to offer the beginner photography course “The Art of Seeing With a Camera.”
