2026 through Early 2027 Season: Call for Proposals

Updated: Jun 16

Submissions Open: April 10 – May 11, 2025

Bountiful Davis Art Center (BDAC) is excited to announce a call for proposals. We invite submissions for exhibitions that will take place from 2026 through early 2027. Artists and curators from all media and career stages are encouraged to apply. We especially welcome those in the early to mid-stages of their professional journey.

Explore Traditional and Contemporary Approaches

We welcome proposals that encompass both traditional and contemporary practices. We are looking for work that reflects personal vision, strong craftsmanship, and thoughtful concepts. This is a chance to share your artistic ideas and contribute to the evolving conversation in the art world.

A Platform for Creative Exploration

BDAC sits in the heart of Bountiful's downtown. We serve as a platform for creative exploration in all forms. Our four professional galleries host diverse exhibitions—ranging from solo shows that highlight cohesive individual practices to ambitious curated group exhibitions that showcase various perspectives across media and disciplines.

We are looking for proposals that resonate with contemporary issues while honoring the rich traditions of artistic practice.

What You Can Submit

Artists may submit proposals in these categories:

  • Solo Exhibitions in our Front or Annex Galleries

  • Curated or Collaborative Group Exhibitions across any media or concept

  • Individual works or a small selection (up to 3 pieces) for consideration in one of our 2026 curated group exhibitions (themes are below)

We encourage all artists to apply, especially those working in painting, sculpture, photography, installation, video, digital media, performance, fiber arts, sound, graphic design, industrial design, architecture, fashion, and experimental formats. BDAC is committed to innovation and welcomes submissions that challenge conventions. This includes work that expands boundaries or sparks new conversations.

2026 Curated Exhibition Themes

Artists who are not submitting full proposals may submit up to three works that align with one or both of the following curated exhibitions:

Landscape, Land Use, and the Human Relationship to Place

This exhibition explores how artists interpret and interact with the land—its shapes, histories, and transformations. All styles and materials are welcome. Works may reflect on agriculture, infrastructure, recreation, displacement, or ecological systems. We invite interpretations that engage personal, political, or spiritual relationships to place.

Design: Form / Function / Idea

This exhibition highlights contemporary design practices, both functional and speculative. Artists and designers are invited to submit work that explores aesthetics, systems, and experiences shaped by design. Submissions may include graphic and industrial design, branding, fashion, architecture, speculative objects, and cross-disciplinary collaborations. Projects can reflect user experiences, storytelling through design, and cultural and social dialogues.
