Call for Exhibition Proposals:

2026 through Early 2027 Season

Submissions Open: April 10 – May 11, 2025

Bountiful Davis Art Center (BDAC) is now accepting proposals for exhibitions to be presented in the 2026 through early 2027 calendar. Artists and curators working in all media, styles, and stages of their careers are invited to apply, with particular interest in those in the early to mid stages of their professional practice.

We welcome proposals that span traditional practices as well as contemporary and cutting-edge approaches—work that reflects personal vision, strong craft, and thoughtful concepts.

Located in the heart of downtown Bountiful, BDAC serves as a platform for creative exploration in all its forms. Our four professional galleries host a wide range of exhibitions—from solo shows that highlight cohesive, individual practices, to ambitious curated group exhibitions that bring together diverse perspectives across media and disciplines. Through this open call, we seek proposals that resonate with the present moment while also honoring the rich traditions of artistic practice.

What You Can Submit

Artists may submit proposals in the following categories:

  • Solo Exhibitions in our Front or Annex Galleries

  • Curated or Collaborative Group Exhibitions across any media or concept

  • Individual works or a small selection (up to 3 pieces) for consideration in one of our 2026 curated group exhibitions (themes below)

We encourage applications from artists working in painting, sculpture, photography, installation, video, digital media, performance, fiber arts, sound, graphic design, industrial design, architecture, fashion, or interdisciplinary and experimental formats. BDAC’s programming reflects a growing commitment to innovation, and we welcome submissions from artists whose work challenges convention, expands boundaries, or invites new conversations.

2026 Curated Exhibition Themes

Artists who are not submitting full solo or group proposals may submit up to 3 works that align with one or both of the following curated exhibitions:

Landscape, Land Use, and the Human Relationship to Place

This exhibition explores how artists interpret and interact with the land—its shapes, histories, and transformations. From classical landscape painting to abstract and conceptual approaches, all styles and materials are welcome. Works may reflect on agriculture, infrastructure, recreation, displacement, or ecological systems, and explore personal, political, or spiritual relationships to place. Whether grounded in observation or driven by imagination, all interpretations of landscape are invited.

Design: Form / Function / Idea

This exhibition highlights contemporary design practice—both functional and speculative. Artists and designers are invited to submit work that explores aesthetics, systems, and experiences shaped by design. Media may include graphic and industrial design, branding, fashion, architecture, speculative objects, interactive systems, and cross-disciplinary collaborations. Projects may reflect on user experience, storytelling through design, material innovation, or design as a tool for cultural and social dialogue.
