Tyler Alexander and David Raleigh are two artists navigating the complexities of contemporary painting. After receiving BFAs, they are now working in adjacent studios. Both have also worked as assistants for local artists. They share the similar challenge of building an art career, but each respond to it in different ways. Alexander’s work takes influences from traditional and contemporary depictions of spiritual subject matter, and seeks to show them in a distinct way. Raleigh’s work is influenced by Neo Expressionist and Faux Naive art.
